Setting Cylinder thermostat correctly

    Hi,

I have a Danfoss Cylinder therostat like this.

    http://www.heatandplumb.com/acatalog/Danfoss_Randall_ATC_Cylinder_Thermostat.html

and I think I may have moved the temperature on it by mistake when rummaging in the hot press.

I know it should be set to 60 C but where is the marker to tell you where the 60 should be lined up with? Should I position it so that the 60 is where the 90 is in the photo in the link ? Just above the little clip that holds the band that goes around the cylinder.

Might seem like a stupid question but the product data sheet online doesn't tell you.

just under the 90C there is an elongated rectangle. The point of the triangle is the "mark".

60C is sufficient for most installations, depending on location of the stat on the cylinder. (Normall mid position on the height of cylinder.)

If the stat is nearer the bottom of the cylinder 55-60C as the hot water rises and the top of the cylinder could be around 70C.

Thanks folks. I see what you mean. Wasn't sure if that was just a design feature.

what type of stats are used for ss insulated tanks? this is a wraparound type that must be in contact with the copper wall of the cylinder. can't do this with stainless steel insulated tanks. there must be a specialised product for this. ???

Usually dual Thermostat with tempreture probes(phials). This are inserted into a dry pocket.
#They mount on the side of the cylinderr and screw on to pocket bushing.
