    Hi Folks,

Probably a one answer query but here we go. I have a GPS from a friend in the States. He bought it there, came back to Ireland and left it when he went back. Its a NavTeq based device that takes maps on an SD card. Apparently international maps are not available for it.

Does anyone know, if I had a NavTeq map on a SD card, could I slot it in? I presume the maps are all the same, with perhaps a lock so they only work in certain devices. Its not a main brand unit but I suspect its a Garmin under the hood.

    ironclaw.

    What device is it?
More than likely the maps are matched to the device.

That I couldn't tell you. Its not a brand name. But it does take NavTeq on SD cards. Suppose they only way to try is to put a SD card in.

Navteq is the map supplier generally there will be different software incorporated into the maps by various manufacturers.
