    Hi All,

Got a new boiler fitted 2 years back. At the time they changed it from being an open system to a closed system. They poped a stop cock and one way valve on the 1/2 pipe coming from the small heating tank in the attic.

I'm in the process of adding a second layer of insulation to the attic and have insulated the main water tank. I'm thinking of removing the small heating tank and just plumb the mains onto the feed for the heating system. The only advantage of leaving the tank up there is that its easy to add inhibitor into the system after its drained etc...

What do you's think? I'm just trying to simply things, it would also make the insulation must handier.

If your system is pressureised you will need mains to fill it. A plumber wont use the tank and will prob pour inhibitor etc in through a rad.

Its taking up space so i would get rid of it...
