    Dear All,

I'm looking for an independent garage who knows their stuff about Range Rovers in the Dublin area.

Times are tight and I don't want to pay the Land Rover stealer premiums for a service, any suggestions ?

    Thanks

    Drfrank

Kings 4x4 in Wicklow have been recommended several times

they probably are the kings of landrovers ok but their prices for the ordinary punter are off the wall .
EG , I needed a transfer box for a p38 rangie and contacted them , yes they had a sh one in stock and wanted only 900 euros for it, he also told me a recon one was 3000 with them , priced a reon with ashcroft transmissions in Uk and it was approx 475 pounds ,
I eventually got one from a landrover specialist in the uk delivered to Ireland for less than 300 euros.
I suppose if you have the money to throw them fair eneogh but not everyone who has a landrover could afford to deal with them .especially when their prices are so far out.

There's a guy in brittas, on and offroad repairs.
He bought a Disco off me years ago. Seemed to really know his stuff.

Hi I was wondering did you ever find a mechanic who is cheaper than main dealers. Any info appreciated.

Be carefull heard this guy can SHOCK you with your bill as well.

With any of these garages always agree a price before the work starts, and if anything else crops up during the work make a point of getting them to phone you with a price and description of fault,(then you can go onto Boards.ie to get info on it) then you can give them the go ahead or not, and make it clear that you'll pay no more than the agreed price if they don't call or go ahead with other work that was'nt agreed on.
