I am bringing the beemer(2007 730d) to maxwell motors for service/repair. Is it a good garage? I can't bring it to my usual garage this week and this is the closest place. Have to get some things fixed for the NCT.

I've only ever used them once or twice for basic servicing and found them fine - that was a few years ago. FWIW, however, I used their body shop at around the same time and it took them four tries to match a bumper to the colour of the car - this with the personal oversight of the bodyshop manager. Unless the car's still under service pack/extended warranty i'd be using the likes of MKW instead.

Don't think they are BMW approved workshop anymore since they ceased the dealership. I understood they outsource the servicing now. I maybe wrong .

I think they used to outsource all their bodyshop work to a place in Ballsbridge.

They've no parts either. I rang there a while back looking for something, and they recommended me to Otto, which would imply this is where they get their parts.

Nothing wrong with what Otto supplies by the way, just that I feel you would likely be charged OEM prices for aftermarket parts.

This is a summary of my experience:

They diagnosed a failed turbo which would cost approx E2,400 for the part

I then brought it to the main dealer where it was bought new for a second opinion and they said it was the intercooler (approx E400)

The intercooler was replaced and now the car is like new.
