Itchy (hurty) beard

Growing a beard (well a "chin thing") for the first time in a couple of years & it's driving me nuts right now. Have very slow growth & it's just getting thick & bushy now five weeks in. Hair is approx third to half inch long.

The last couple of days it's driving me nuts, it feels itchy & when I go to scratch the hair feels hard & dry & like it's scraping the skin.

I condition it every two days & take care of it, how long is this likely to last or should I give up ?

To be honest it could be the conditioner irritating your skin, I find that it does it to the skin around my hairline even just in the shower.

Is it just scratchy or is there actual irritation?

Was just scratchy. That's passed. Now it's annoying (to the other half) :D

Ahh, well then. That's just the "itchy" phase. :)
