    Hi,

I bought a portable dvd player with dvb-t support in france last year, the brand name is lazer. unfortunately it does not support irish dvb-t standard (mpeg 4), it only plays mpeg 2.i think that the software for this is used on alot of these machines under different brand names (mass produced in china i suppose) so i was hoping that someone would have a software update.when i go into reciever info it says that the reciever is called "DVB-T M3101" and the software version currently on it is "DTR01_T_080319_4M_p090717" Anyone know where i can get the update? i would really appreciate it.

It's unlikely that there is an update. If there was it would never ever add Irish DTT.

It will be MPEG2 only. It will NEVER work on Irish DTT (Saorview) or TNT-HD or FreeviewHD.

Only high-end PCs / Laptops can get "updates" for MPEG2 to MPEG4. Also even PC tuners can't get software updates to make a DVB-T tuner a DVB-T2 tuner (Freeview to Freeview HD) as that is Hardware.

Many places sell portable DVB players with DTT. None will ever work Irish DTT (Saorview) or TNT-HD or FreeviewHD and most other recent DTT roll-outs.

You need MPEG4 and HD, minimum, for most new DTT services as well as Ireland.

See www.saortv.info for info on Free TV in Ireland.
