    Hi,

Any thoughts on the swing analyzer at

    http://www.lidl.ie/ie/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20101216.p.Golf_Simulator

It also has a couple of extras that I'm not interested in (play famous courses on the simulator, interface with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2011 etc) ... what I am interested in is the swing anlayzer. The LPDR swing analytics software seems to be from a pretty reputable company (see http://www.electricspin.com/v/lpdr_new). So am just wondering would this be a good investment in terms of getting swing feedback for a high-teens handicap golfer? Or does this DIY approach work?

    Thanks,
    super_freddie.

    No and yes

My company builds the courses that are used for this, we a few of them in the office and use them for our designer clients when they want to play their visualisations.

There are only nine sensors that track the club, which is not many. The sensors only tack the club head path and cannot tell whether the face is open or closed.

They are a lot of fun though, we used it for a virtual nearest the pin comp this year at the Irish Seniors Open and had one in use at the Hermitages last AGM.

If you want to try it out I am sure i can give you a lend of one

I've heard about them. Meant to be good craic. Bit like a golfers Wii. It's not accurate at determining swing speed, distance, open/closed faces or anything complicated like that.

Think of it as a game controller.

    Hi,

First, thanks to Golfgrafix for the offer of a trial ... I might PM you to take you up on that after Xmas :-)

So, it sounds like these are more of a game than a swing analysis tool ... don't think I'm interested so... unless my trial proves otherwise.

    Thanks guys,
    super_freddie.
