How much is Carlow to Limerick

    Hi im hoping to get home for xmas, and will be doing so by train. my wife is nearly 3 months pregnant and we have a 3 and a half year old girl. so train is necessary.

    can any one tell me what it costs for a round trip?? hoping to be going around 22nd after mid day


    Note how much is Carlow to Dublin by bus???

    The Irish Rail website is reporting a web fare 44 euro adult (total 176 euro return). Children under 5 go free. http://www.irishrail.ie/your_journey/timetables_junction1.asp However, Carlow-Limerick is an odd pairing hand hte booking system isn't giving hte best value there.

    However, you should be able to do better than that, probably 20-25 euro adult single (total 80-100 euro return) by booking Carlow-Heuston & Heuston-Limerick if you pick your times carefully. If the web interface isn't giving you a suitable price, try a phone booking (ask first, not need to book immediately) 1850 366 222. Showing up at the booking office on the day is likely to be the least value, but phone them and ask what the normal fares would be. Travelling at peak times, especially on Friday or Sunday will be substantially more expensive.

    No trains 25-26 December. Some restrictions 24 December - 3 January.
