Problem with heating

A couple of months ago we smelt gas in the apartment, we rang bord gais and they sent someone out to have a look. They couldn't find any sign of a leak, but they did find a drop in pressure so put a lock on the gas meter downstairs. The landlord has only got around to sorting it out now, but still no heating. He said that even though the lock was removed and the valve downstairs and the valve in the hot press is open, that the gas is still not coming up. He has tried twice to fix this, once witha plumber and once on his own. But to no joy. The place is absolutely freezing and haven't heard anything from him in a while. Can anyone suggest what I could do?

It is strange for RGI gas installer( only they can work on gas) to repair a gas leak and not reestablish the gas, i would get your own RGI to check your gas supply and take the cost out of the rent, better to be safe than sorry, Gary.

I would agree, but you would need to check with the landlord first if you want be sure of not ending up in a row. He may well just want to get his own man in rather than pay for the one that you want to get in.

Would it not be advisable to inform the landlord if contactable of this action first to cover one's back.?

It's nice to be nice, as long as who ever works on it is RGI.
