iPhone 3Gs Battery Extender

Hey all,

I am looking for a battery extender for the iPhone 3Gs. I have been searching on amazon all day and I was just wondering if any of you have bought one and is it any good?

I am more looking for a carry around battery charger that I can bring around with me and only put it on the iPhone when my battery runs low then it will charge the phone, that way I won't always have the bulky battery case on the iPhone all the time.

would not recommend this types of extenders. They do more harm then good. Just knock off some features and you will get up to 4 days of battery. Features like push for email, 3g enabled, and data plan activated at all times can seriously drain your battery. Knock them off and you will be better.

I have all of those done already, I have no email account's active, no push, no 3G or any cellular data, brightness at it's lowest and I use Battery Doctor Pro as often as I can.
I get two days comfortably out of the battery now, even when I use wifi regularly so I am happy with that.

But this was more for times that I go away and don't have access to a computer, main's socket or would have to leave the phone unattended at a socket.
So a battery extender would solve that problem so when it does run low I can just slot it into the extender and let it recharge


What did you mean by more harm than good? Does it actually harm the battery?
Or is it just because of the bulkiness and general il-usefulness of the extender?
