elements..elements 9???

    hi, dh is going to get me elements for christmas, which 1 is best to get, had a look on amazon and there is elements 9, elements 9 & elements premiere bundle, premiere elements 9.
    im baffled!!
    i am only new to all this so a basic enough 1. have used picassa etc before, will be getting a dslr also

    I'd say the basic edition is more than enough. Pretty easy program to use once you get the hang of it :)

    It actually scores better on Amazon than the premier edition, some users saying the premier version is painfully slow.

    premiere is for video editing! The bundle has both premiere elements and photoshop elements. If you only want photos then photoshop elements 9 is the one.

    Resurrecting, is it better than a New Thread?

    Question is, Elements 9 is £45 on Amazon just now. I've been using GIMP for the few edits I do (occasional cropping and sometimes curves), but at 45 quid I'd be tempted to make the jump to the paid software if it handles better or is easier to play with. Any boardsies have experience using both?
