After teeth whitening...

Got a gift of a teeth whitening session yesterday. At first glance they seemed sparkly but looking closer there's still yellowish tint closest the gums and at the sides of some teeth. Is this normal?

Also wondering, what are the best toothpastes to presrve whiteness and possibly reverse yellowing?

Obviously I intend to avoid coffee/tea, lay off the beers and eat as healthily as possible too, but anyway any advice is much appreciated, thanks!

I had laser teeth whitening done on Thursday and at first they were sparkling white. They are already not as white as that, they weren't too bad to begin with but they're closer to where they were before I had it done now than to where they were just after the procedure, and it's only 3 days later!

I have avoided all of the usual suspects for staining teeth and that has made no difference. They gave me toothpaste before I left, which I've used 3 times a day since and still this has not helped.

You should always make sure a proper dentist does the whitening for you. I got zoom whitening done last Monday by a dentist and she made moulds of my teeth and gave me trays and whitening gel to use every night for 2 weeks. She told me the zoom whitening on its own will only bring your teeth up a couple of shades whiter but with 2 weeks of wearing the trays and gel at night time straight afterwards will get your teeth to the best natural shade of white they can possibly be. When I got the zoom done my teeth were whiter but only by a few shades. I have been using the trays at night now since tuesday and my teeth are so much brighter and I still have another week of bleaching to go. I can't wait for the final result...everybody is already commenting on how nice my teeth are looking. The trays and gel were included in the price of the zoom whitening and the dentist told my after i finish whitening at home they will stay that way and i will only have to top up with the trays for a night or two every 6 months or so to freshen them up because I smoke:rolleyes:

My friend got zoom whitening on its own a few months ago and within a month her teeth were back to the orginal colour so you really have to get the trays as well and do the complete treatment if you want a good long lasting result

I use Pearl Drops professional, it's about €6 in chemists. I also use Plus White Daily Whitening gel. It hasn't got peroxide so isn't as harmful on your teeth.

I use it once a day for two weeks and then just the odd time after the initial use. My teeth stay very white. I also brush after every meal and don't drink coffee/red wine, don't smoke so my teeth don't get discoloured really.
