I have a PES moderator on my T3 tactical, haven't done any testing or decibel measuring but I'm happy enough with it.

Its a nice handy size aswell, I couldn't believe the size of the t8 when I first saw one, about the size of a can of dutch gold:D

I've heard one ASE many times, I think it was the Jet-Z (thinner black ASE mod anyway) and I have a T8 myself and heard two more of them.

For pure noise reduction, to my ear, I would prefer the T8.

For build quality, probably the ASE.

But to top that all off the ASE is dearer than the T8 I believe.

    I use a t8 on my 223,
But be aware they leave your rifle a bit

The down side with the Mod is the Dolly Parton/Pammy anderson affect.

I have a reflex and an ASE, but the Rodale Mods are a fraction of the weight.

Next on my purchase list for my stalking rifle

I was in buying a cz527 .223 today and was talking about what moderator I should put on it to him. The dealer said the t4s and t8s rot from the inside out and that I should buy a north star moderator. As its easy to clean and it is made of stainless steel. Its light and compact. Its €330 of the dealer I was in with today.

i had a t8 on my tikka tact,i thought i was looking after it well enough until i noticed a small hole appear which grew,i got on to my dealer and returned it to jacksons rifles, got a northstar at a reduced price, sprayed it wit exhaust paint, class job, northstar better job imo, could'nt really tell the difference between it and t8 sound wise

I have an ASE northstar mod on my .243 i find it a brilliant moderator, a couple of the lads i shoot with have t8's they are a fraction lighter but can rust easily. t8 is a bit longer but the extra length comes back over the barrel so makes no difference IMHO your not going to be doing much offhand shooting with any mod on your rifle as there all heavy... i got my northstar for €285 in wicklow

You never felt the weight of a Roedale Mod then so:eek:
I've done plenty of off hand with my Remington VSSF II with an ASE Mod on, and that is a heavy Rifle for offhand!

I'd fancy the Ase Utra jet-z in the for sale section. ;)
They seem to be VERY highly rated.

The Roedale mods are tiny compared to the first gen mods. Lightweight as well.
I have a combi alloy and stainless one on my .243 and it makes shooting without muffs a pleasure.
