Acebot Trojan and ADH2 virus removed

    Hi I have removed Acebot virus and Norton quarantines ADH2comparisonshoppingupgrade.exe virus automatically.

    Will these have damaged my computer and the second ADH2 comparisonshoppingupgrade.exe is quarantined everyday. Will these have caused any damage and I will they have took any of my bank details, paypal etc.

    If the ADH2comparisonshoppingupgrade.exe is quarantined everyday, then it hasn't been removed. If Norton isn't dealing with these properly then you'll need to run other removal programs to tackle them and also to see if there's anything else lurking. You could start with :

    1. General temp file cleanup. Install & run TFC

    2. Boot into 'Safe Mode with Networking'. Install, Update & run Malwarebytes. Save the Malwarebytes log to the desktop and post it here later. Reboot back into Normal Mode and run Malwarebytes again. If anything new is detected in Normal Mode than post that log too.

    If you've got any viruses/malware hanging around on your computer then there's no way to guarantee what damage has or hasn't been done. You can only assume that your personal data has been compromised and act accordingly. So when you're sure that your computer is clean (if that's even possible without a fresh install), change all your passwords, keep your system and antivirus software up to date, use common sense when surfing and, if feasible, run as a Limited/Standard user account instead of as an Administrator account.
