can you summon someone to court in a bullying/harassement case if they were a witness and the only way it could be proved is if they give evidence?

My guess would be no, as it seems a little harsh but i dont know the law. It would seem more plausible if it were a more serious case. But im just a psychology student you see :D

You can summons material witnesses to the case but only material witnesses, those for example who would have witnessed an incident or be pertinent to the case in hand. In the example you give say it was work related, summons can be issued to work colleagues, manager etc. Summons however are normally used for reluctant witnesses, obviously if the claimant has Friends/acquaintances who witnessed an event summons would not normally be required.

Once a summons is issued the witness must attend court whether they like it or not albeit some exceptional circumstances are permitted.

I've just been summons for a case involving two contractors at a premises i once managed almost two years ago, I'm not happy about it but i have little choice to attend and give evidence in the new year.

Is maith an scáthán súil charad.
