looking for tickets on ticketmaster for a munster rugby game coming up and bit confused on the seating. its says uncovered seating is this the black section in the map? other option is north terrace tickets...any ideas which would be better?

IMHO, Uncovered seating is a rip off, North terrace is behind the goals. I go for the Nth Terrace if it was me.

I agree with Phog the touchline seating is a rip off. The North Terrace would be my choice too, you get a good view of the Munster team as their dressing room is that side of the ground, Visitors come out via the South of the ground.

    OK

honestly though, I've seen better local GAA stadiums than Musgrave park.

They are supossed to start redevelopment of the West Stand into a 6'500 all-seater, with work to start at the end of January.
So no more games in Musgrave Park for the rest of the year when they start.

I have not heard a thing about this since we were talking about it last March - are there any recent news articles that suggest it is still going ahead - I would have expected to hear someting at this stage if building was going to start in Q1, as suggested.

In my opinion the new stand - and revamp the existing ground a bit to take the bleakness off it, should be more than enough. No need for a big stadium there to be honest. The decision was made years ago about focusing on Limerick, leave it at that. Just need to take the bad look off MP.

I am of the opinion (with no more than my own speculation as source) that the IRFU are building towards a world cup bid down the line. This is the reason for the Musgrave development (as well as inproving infrastructure) and Ravenhill going under vast improvement too.

There have even been murmers of redeveloping RDS into a 20 odd k stadium if an agreement can be reached with RDS.

Lansdowne and potential lease of Croker and I think a small modern stadium out west will be last on the development list (as usual for poor Connacht fans). That may be enough to do a joint bid with Wales and to host the final / less likely scenario of doing a deal with GAA for use of stadiums for competition.

Again, my own crazy thoughts only.

As for the redevelopment, I would imagine it's still in the pipeline, but with the recent threats to Irish rugby and funding, it may well be on the back burner for now...

I've always liked the idea of a Celtic World Cup (Ireland, Wales, Scotland)

    Anyway,
(Besides GAA) Cork has no large permanant indoor/outdoor arena or municple stadium, and with things going so bad for Cork City FC, Musgrave Park is the only stadium that would benifit from redebelopment in the near future.
