    Rover 25 2002

I noticed the heater had stopped working last night. Checked the water this morning and it was just about dry :o. Driving today and it keeps just quietly dying when I'm stopped in traffic/lights etc. It was running perfectly up to yesterday, although it was parked up a lot over the last couple of weeks due to the weather.

I couldn't find a mechanic open today, and won't get one tomorrow, will have to wait till Monday. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

No, I'm not sure. It wasn't cold today/yesterday though, certainly not freezing.

The heater in my mothers car stopped working last week. She drives a 07 Corsa. Apparently the problem is the cable burned out that goes to the heater. Need to replace it now.

Battery be my guess. Charge it up if you can, or take it out for a long drive at high revs to charge it up.

Could be the head gasket, that would be my guess the fact it has no water.

This happened me last week, the frost plug blew in the engine so there was no water in the engine, Put water in and make sure there are no leaks

Maybe some local thug-wannabe-mechanic installed a stop/start system overnight ???:D

Bugger it. Drove for about 15 minutes then got a burning smell, opened bonnet and the water tank is black and steaming. I left it there and walked home.
