Hi folks. I am looking to get a Teckle for some Deer tracking and was hoping someone might have a contact or possibly know somebody selling them ? I have had a good look online already and am struggling to come up with anything at all.

Anyways feedback, suggestions and advice always welcomed

    Cheers in advance

I presume you are looking for a dachshund ! The breed strains in this country are not very good for hunting against that we have had two that have been very good at tracking most animals though theirinstinct is tto go to ground after badger and rabbit ! The Irish dachshund society is putting proposals for field trials for the breed the details are on the working section of the website ! Your best hope for a good working dog is too import from Germany the USA or south Africa ! If I can think of any contacts I will pm you

Hi Karl, thanks for your reply. its actually a wired hair Teckel im after, I know daschund are also known as teckels or dackels but its not like you normal looking daschund. I kind of guessed as much on the breed standard here and had actually looked at other options like the uk etc but from reading more and listening to your comments I think Germany might be a better option. I would be very grateful for any contacts or info you could provide.

    Thanks again
