I'm new to all this so looking for advice.
Being Christmas and all that, I gave in and bought a Jingle Bells ringtone the other day.
Now the question is, where is it? There was no sign of any downloading going on, and it doesn't appear as an app on the iphone 4. Ideas?

there is a site called ZEDGE you can download all the tones you want there free, then transfer them to your phone via bluetooth.

They ditched the ringtone making because it was stupidly expensive and unused. Far easier to make it yourself or find a programme to do it.

    http://www.tuneclone.com/how-to-free-custom-ringtones-for-iphone-3g.php

As far as I know you can make the ringtone 40 seconds long, so so you can ignore the bit about 30 seconds.

If you have sync'd your iPhone with iTunes since purchasing, it should be under Settings>Sounds>Ringtone

    Got as far as
"Go to the name and extension section and change the extension from .m4a to .m4r (or you can just change the extension right from your desktop)."
There's no name and extension in properties.
And I thought I was doing it the easy way by buying a ringtone.

ya shouldnt have to do any of that if ya buy a ringtone, go to audiko.net and download one, it will be a lot less hassle

download for free here - http://audiko.net/
tones are automatically listed as a ringtone and saved accordinilly (sp).

if you have your own song, upload it, pick what 30 seconds you want and download it.

no mad software, and all done in a minute or 2!

iPhone ringtones aren't available on the Irish iTunes Store. There are albums of "ringtones" to purchase, but they're just the same as music.
