Lads do you any of ye use a 4x magnifier with your eotech red dots?
Do they realistically make any difference?

    Cheers

Well, it makes stuff look 4 times nearer.

The one I had had terrible light collection so everything looked pretty dark through it, and it was unusable at night or in dim areas like forest. It was pretty cool in open daylight, though the flip-to-side aspect is actually a pain in the crotch.

I have one I use and as Shane says it does make stuff a wee bit darker it's sometimes useful to have 4x for spotting stuff. I have the twist off one which works well and does not get in the way when not in use.

I seem to recall you having problems with the flip-to-side operation at an event; maybe at Op.Zulu? Or else I just imagined the whole thing and I need less beer :pac:

That's right, the mount I bought was for a 12mm rail or something and my gun, like practically every gun in existence, had a 20mm rail as it turned out. Not an inherent problem with magnifiers, rather with my idiotic brain, so I didn't mention it because I'd assume that the average punter has enough common sense to check that it'll actually fit on his gun first.

Actually it was pretty poxy quality in general, the threads on the screw stripped right the hell off too and I haven't been able to source a replacement, it's a weird size. Doesn't matter of course because I don't want to use it anyway.

The last 3 are working for me ???
You are right the magnification works on every thing in its field of vision and that includes the dot
So the more magnification the device has the bigger the dot seems
