    Hi all,

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

I connected my Iphone 3gs to my Mac a few minutes ago and Itunes said there was an update to be downloaded. I said ok and it started.

I then got a notification that an error had occurred. The Iphone is now in recovery mode and displays a picture with a USB cable and an arrow pointing to an itunes picture.

I've re-connected it to I-tunes and all it's saying is "Itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iphone before it can be used with Itunes"

I'd do the restore no problem but I took a couple of photos today of my little fella that I do not want to lose.

If I do the restore in itunes, will i lose all data? This link says no but if you read the comments, someone lost their data.

Does anyone know how I can restore it without losing the photos?

    Thanks a mil.

I have indeed. It's just going back to the same picture when it comes back on.

If you use TinyUmbrella to kick it out of recovery (and it works) then you'll be grand.

Just copy your pictures to PC, then restore.

Error 13 and 14: These errors are typically resolved by performing one of more of the steps listed below:
    • Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including a different USB port directly on the computer.
    • Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
    • Try a different USB 30-pin dock connector cable.
    • Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
    • There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your Registry. If your default packet size is set incorrectly it can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance.
    • Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
    • Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
