Help! - Looking for plastic washer for loo seat. Photo attached

This is one of the two plastic washers that sits between the loo seat and the bowl.

Without both the seat moves a bit.

Any idea where I'd get one? Or where's the best place for plumbing parts? Preferably Dublin Southside, but anywhere in Dublin would do.

    Thanks.

    D.

You have no hope of getting one. They are not supplied as spare parts. Unless something has changed. They are spacers used to stop the seat moving from side to side. They usually come with the higher quality seats however in recent months they have apeared on the lidl and aldi seats which are obv high quality just low price.

Your only option is a fix. What i do for a fix is tape insulation tape around the screw and this works fine. Its a little tricky but you will get it.

Another tip while we are on the subject is if the hindges still slide even though you have all the parts use 2 patches from a bicycle kit and put the bolt off the seat through it.

It helps to stop it sliding and is a great fix for the wooden seats which have a lot of weight behind them.

Whilst we are on the subject of toilet seats and i am bored stiff i might as well part with a final nugget.

White toilet seats turn yellow over time.... Despite our protests women dont seem to believe us that its not the yellow from our pee but i am glad to tell you appar its not.

    Its bleach.

What happens is when going to bed at night most of us jet the toilet bowl and put the seat down. As the bleach reacts with moisture in the air and bowl it releases a certain amount of clorine gas or some sh1t like that. This has the effect of causeing the yellow to apear on the toilet seat...

    STOP USING BLEACH. USE PINE!

Note: I can imagine someone will give me an example of where its p1ss but this is just the general case.....

Men... Tell your wives its there fault....
