    Hi all

I had a look in the B&M section but could not see anything that might have what Im looking for which is a decent coffee machine to make good espresso and and can steam for Lates etc.

You see these machines in any coffee shop worth its salt. Im on a tight budget so looking for something secondhand. I might start of with using a Gaggia Classic but if it gets busy at all this certainly will not cut the mustard..

Any help advice would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    B

If this is for a retail environment you may forget about a classic. It'd take you nearly 10min to make 2 small cappas, meanwhile your customers are walking out the door as they don't have the time to wait around.

Keep an eye on adverts, gumtree and the buy and sell. If you spend peanuts on this it will cost you in lost business in the long run. Have you a grinder? What type of outlet have you or what are you planning?

    Thanks Magnolia,

Need a grinder also, thinking of a Mazzer Jolly or similar. The outlet is something a friend is opening in the heart of town and he got the keys the other day so he is looking for equip asap. It is a cafe but will not just sell coffee of course but would like to offer good quality coffee to those who seek.

He knows how much I love my coffee and asked if I knew where he could get the right equipment so I thought I would post here as I learnt nearly all I know from this forum :)

Has he considered buying a refurbished coffee machine?
Although I don't keep an eye on it daily, the last commercial standard machine I saw on Adverts was a Gaggia in need of some serious repairs.

Someone on this forum recommended these guys before:

Have no experience with them myself but they look like a good source.
Another idea would be to contact a supplier.
My folks got a free machine and grinder from one on condition that they would purchase their beans through him.
It's worked out cheaper for them this way as he also services the machine, they are limited to only offering tchibo coffee's though.

best of luck with your search.
