Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy's handpicked opponent
I hope it's Jeff Hardy himself. It would make for a sweet match, even though we've seen it for free on TV this year.

    Ken Anderson vs. Matt Morgan
Makes sense, I thought this match was happening on this week's impact but i guess not. I wonder how the concussion angle will play into the finish.

    Brother Ray vs. Brother Devon
I guess we've put off this match long enough; although I have no want to see it. Ray's been cutting some good promos though. I hope it gets 3 minutes or less.

Jeff Jarrett vs. Kurt Angle: Exhibition
Ha, do you think these two can stretch out this feud until Lockdown for a lion's den match? Actually it sucks that the PPV is a cage match as it'll make this one not special. Maybe it'll be MMA rules then. Should be a great match with Angle in charge, their previous two PPV matches were both very different and really good.

TNA X Division champion Jay Lethal vs. Kazarian
These lads can both wrestle so should be a great match. I'm personally just not interested in either as a character but their wrestling standard is high.No storyline to the match though.

    AJ Styles vs. Douglas Williams

Had a great match @ Final Resolution (I guess it wasn't resolved then!) so very much looking forward to seeing this one again.

    Beer Money vs MMG
Really? Again? I'm sick of these two wrestling -- that best of 5 should be the blow off for at least a year, c'mon! They'll have a great match, as always, but FAK i've seen it so many times.

All in all it's quite a strong card. I imagine we'll get Mickie vs Rayne as well.

I'd put my money on Matt Hardy, his no compete is nearly up by Genesis based on the date WWE announced his release and Hardy claims he was officially released two weeks before that so he should be good to go by then.

mickie's knee looked to be in a bad way after that Thesz press off the top of the cage, think that match will be put on hold

I think ye are right, Machismo and Groutch. Matt will show up with a bag of chips in one hand. I imagine they won't wait until Genesis to have the KO tag titles since they mean nothing, and there's only 4 "tag-teams" (i use the term loosely!) in TNA.

Maybe they'll put on some grudge match with Sky vs Winter for Angelina's hand in taggage.

There was some stuff between Joe and Pope at the iMPACT! tapings so that could be added aswell, but nothing was made official.

I was thinking he might pick Dreamer or another olddie from ECW completely forgot about Matt

I dunno, I think Devon and Ray could be pretty good if it's kept relatively short and they get the crowd involved.

I think Williams V AJ will be a great match kinda hoping AJ will lose so he will be outta of Imortal

It appears he isn't, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I've been enjoying Hardy's heel run, and the fact that he isn't wrestling but cutting promos has been pretty impressive. if only they exercised this kind of restraint when they first hired himself and RVD, they've given away pretty much every match-up between those two and Styles and Joe on free already. (Hardy/Styles, Hardy/RVD, Hardy/Joe, RVD/Joe etc etc)

So no chance of it being Jeff to drop the title to RVD?

Well it could be Matt (or whoever) then Jeff faces him immediately after when RVD is supposed to weakened but RVD beats him, though that'd only happen if they wanted to get the belt off Jeff (which they could also do at the following iMPACT! tapings). Or they could have Jeff drop the belt to Naito.;)

Christ they've actually renamed Brother Ray "Bully Ray".

    Frown.

Otherwise, could be a great card! Hope MCMG get on the card.

On paper this is the best TNA PPV line-up in a very long time. I really hope they don't put Morgan/Anderson on last. The Guns/Beer Money or, more likely, Angle/Jarrett should close this show.

absolutely. Every match have at least a half decent story behind them.

imo they need MCMG to lose the tag titles, give Beer Money a chance to feud with The British Invasion (esp. Wolf & Magnus)

Really Great card alright! Are these still being shown on the extreme sports chanell (or whatever it was called), Havent watched a tna ppv properly in a long long time! (internet highlights suck :p )

All TNA shows seem to have been pulled off Extreme Sports, they don't show Xplosion or Epics anymore. If Genesis is on there the Sky listing should be updated later today.

They seem to have changed their minds on the new British Invasion, the segment with Wolfe's return helping Williams was pulled from iMPACT!.

I guess their deal with Extreme Sports has ran out now as well. There's no sign of the PPV for next Friday

    €27 or there abouts.
Streams thread will be busy that night..

Looks like the days of free tna ppvs are over. :(

I assume TNA can't charge less for the online stream due to PPV contracts.

Nah, i assume they did this not to piss off the 8,000 PPV buyers in America. Another blunder in TNA's lap. How TNA have the audacity to charge MORE THAN WWE for a PPV OVER THE INTERNET is a fukking disgrace.

Suffice to say I will not be buying this PPV but I will watch it.

I let TNAWrestlingUK's facebook page have it :
50109_100000849760774_7817101_q.jpgThis is an absolute disgrace. You do realise, TNA, that you're charging us MORE THAN WWE for a PPV, AT 1A.M., OVER THE INTERNET? And how retarded that is? Your TV blunders makes your company look so bush-league. I hope your 8,000 American PPV buyers are happy that we can't see it legally for any cheaper, but you see, nobody is stupid enough to order your golden stream overseas.

Jay Hunter : To order WrestleMania on TV (in HD) in UK/Ireland costs 23 euros. This throwaway PPV STREAM without your jailbird world champion costs approximately 28 euros. I'm sure you're a nice bunch of lads but your idiot company deserves every terrible rating and buyrate you get

WWE charges $44.95 for PPVs in America, and $54.95 for Wrestlemania, so dollars wise its still cheaper than WWE.

TNA have never operated a PPV service in the UK or Ireland so they're probably looking at how much WWE charges over the internet as well.

Its upto Sky to set the price for PPVs on their service, not TNA or WWE, so the €23 price you see is the Sky decided price.

It is still very high, but TNA can't exactly charge the UK and Ireland less in the face of US customers as US customers will get extremely disgruntled and not purchase again.

I'm not condoning the price, but its not as simple as "WWE on Sky = 23, TNA online = 27" being a scam.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

[...]but its not as simple as "WWE on Sky = 23, TNA online = 27" being a scam.

    Actually, it is.

My previous post specifically delineates how much things cost in the UK/Ireland, as it applies to almost all PW Boardies (ie who this post is aimed at). AFAIK WWE do not offer internet PPVs.

Wrestling PPVs should always cost less in the UK than USA because the market/demand is smaller, and the show is on at unreasonable hours (making alternative viewing - in bars, with friends to split costs etc) an unviable option. Hence WWE's PPVs are much cheaper in UK than USA.

Hosting a show over the internet costs far, far less (i.e. 10% of the costs) than to show a PPV on, well, Pay-Per-View TV. So how a PPV can cost the same streaming as PPV price is an absolute disgrace.

WWE and Sky agree on how much PPVs cost and their relative splits. (It's not like WWE asked for it to be e5 and Sky said sure, set it at e23 and pocket e18)

Also, TNA are setting the price for their online stream, which (I assume) is also available to US viewers. I wouldn't worry about the "disgruntled" US PPV-buying audience if they've been blindly paying $35 per month these last few years. Why couldn't these hardcore loyal TNA followers avail of this wonderful offer too?

I believe WWE offer ALL PPVs for a YEAR in Australia for max $150 (i.e. $11 per show) but you don't hear Americans and UK/Irish b!tching because it's a different country, where demands and timezones are different.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,041 ✭✭✭pdbhp

TNA are having a laugh if they think anybody is going to pay that kind of money for thier PPV.
Are Extreme Sports still showing it next Friday?

Edit: Just checked the interweb and it looks like there's no more free PPV on Extreme Sports

Yeah but on the flipside, if we've been getting them for free for so long, to have to stump up the cash for one isn't the worst thing in the world if they go back to being free. Not that we should care, but I'm sure those in the US are laughing at us for being so "toys out of the pram" considering they have to outlay 34.95 per PPV, whilst we get them all free bar one.

I mean don't get me wrong, I'm dying to see the PPV and certainly won't be paying that much. TNAondemand as always been that price for PPVs, its nothing new, your anger should be directed towards Sky for cutting off TNA and the PPV on a free network.

If TNA gave it to us free, they'd be losing money on it, because they get money from Sky for the programming and the PPVs to be on the EPG. So from going from making money from showing PPVs on Sky, to just showing them for free online (which costs some money, not a huge amount, but some money) and thus losing money.

I understand the frustration but I'm sure TNA are looking at the situation wondering why people are going postal on them because they have to pay for one PPV whilst the channel move is being sorted, especially considering we get everything else free.

And even though WWE is 23 and TNA is 27, WWE is costing more over the space of a year (what is it 5 PPVs? so 115) and TNA is charging for one over the course of a year. Now I know there's no guarantee, but one assumes this "paying for a PPV" is merely until the channel move is sorted.
