Should Boards pay other sites for links?

Boards once tweeted the question "Should journalists" pay to use boards. Darragh has mentioned before that a nod should be given to boards.ie when posts turn into printed media.

Should boards pay the indo and the mail etc for their media? Should boards.ie have a rule that people must mention and link back to their source?

    Just wondering.

Well they do try make you back up your source. I can't see them ever paying for using links from a paper or website though.

Articles shouldn't be CPed here but a link is fine. If the article is posted on Boards, the website loses out on ad revenue. If it's a link, they get the ad revenue.

Rupert Murdoch agrees with you though.

By that logic, I copyright all my posts and anyone who has quoted them needs to pay me €2 a day (Retrospectively of course :pac:) in royalties.

We should send in a pretty hard-ass negotiating team.

Only the highest of high calibre candidates. Any suggestions?

Most people do post links with articles, and if they don't someone is guaranteed to ask for a source within 10 posts.
