    Is it suddenly looking like the genetic splicing might not be working out as well as they thought it might? Somebody must have recognised the importance of preserving the original proven species.

    As far as I remember there are already 25 seed banks around the world.

    plants have been "genetically engineered" for hundreds of years anyway

    nothing is the "original" any more

    I know a guy with a secure vault to preserve his vinyl collection. Looks like these digital formats aren't working out...
