    Hi,

i have the above hrv system for the past year. It is now time to replace the filters but I'm not sure where I can get replacement filters for this unit. The manual states that the filters are G3 but I think I have also seen that you can use G4 or F7 filters. Where can these filters be found?

Also, the unit comes with a RF switch for the 3 modes of operation. It is useful that the unit has a remote control but I find 2 issues with it - the range is not great and doesn't reach from the kitchen. Therefore we tend not to turn it on enough when cooking. Secondly, it would be great if there was a timer built into the unit. The HRV system should be on max for at least 2 hours a day but we don't always remember to do this. If there was a controller that had a time clock built in it would be useful as you could programme the system to run at different power levels for different time periods of the day. Is there such a controller available and if so can it be retrofitted to the system?

Very handy, but isn't the delivery charge a bit steep? €30 for 2 filters? Post would only cost at most €10 for registered post...

i felt the same. €30 was way too expensive for the postage. i sent an email to the website wondering if it was a mistake but unfortunately never received a response. in the meantime i found an alternative provider in ireland. send me a pm if you want the details.

    Hi Fitzie,
I just saw this old post when I was looking for replacement filters for my ITHO Eco4 HRV on the internet. Would you be able to pm me the link for the alternative provider? How have you found the HRV since you installed it? I've found it a great addition in the house.
    Cheers Fitzie,

I know that this is an old thread, but it may be of interest to know that there are a few websites where filters for the ITHO ECO4 HRV can be purchased at a far lower cost than the Irish agents. I will qualify this and say that they are NOT original ITHO filters, but I've been using them for almost a year and they are perfectly satisfactory.
I'm assuming that using these filters is akin to using an oil filter purchased in an motor factors rather than from the main dealer...of similar quality but cheaper because of the absence of branding...

Anyhow, the websites are as follows:

    www.wtw-filtershop.nl

    and

    www.filtersvoorthuis.nl

I'm not associated with either but I bought a set of filters from wtw-filtershop.nl and they fitted and worked fine.

The second website I've quoted is even cheaper than the first but don't readily supply to Ireland or the UK (parcelmotel!). I've sent them an email to see if I can persuade them.....

Hope this is of interest. It just seems to me that the cost of replacing filters counteracts the savings one makes by using a HRU in the first place and so should be minimised...

Anyone have any feedback on this website for ITHO filters. www.fairair.eu

Seem reasonably priced compared to rip off prices here for what seems like a simple enough filter.

    thanks
