Just wondering is there anywhere online that have a library of aircraft maintenance manuals? I'm a trainee mechanic and I'd like to get a bit more practise finding my way around the manuals!
Any sort would be great but specifically 737/757/767 and A320 family!

I did a google search but couldnt find anything really!

Have you any idea just how big those manuals are? The paper versions could go to 20 or more volumes 5 inches thick. So it's not really something you'd put online. Engine manuals were nearly as big, fewer volumes but those were about 7 inches thick. I know, I used to have to update them. :( You would get a stack of revisions 18 inches high. Imagine having to individually insert all those pages. The stuff of nightmares and it was my job for years!

Luckily they are available on CD for a long time now. Your best bet would be to get in touch with an airline or maintenance company's technical publications unit and ask for obsolete editions of the CD.

Yeah I do know how big they are alright, I use them everyday (not hard copies obviously!!) I have a copy of a 737 WDM on my computer and it has almost 5000 pages!

Hi Alan, I found this 'site' a while ago. Not sure if it has all your looking for. Its structured like a FTP site so you might have to click a lot to find what you need. Also fluent Chinese might be handy for browsing (not for reading the manuals).

You're lucky Alan, updating hardcopy manuals was one of those jobs you avoided at all costs. I remember one Supervisor in my company hid his manuals and the revisions rather than insert them. By the time we found it the manuals were so out of date, we had to dump it and buy a new one. But that manual only had six volumes!
