Is anybody else hoping Brian Cowen will hang on?

    As we know back benchers like Mary O Rourke have been calling for Brian Cowen to resign, or his wife to do it for him. Personally I am quite relieved that he has withdrawn from the pressure to do so. I am not a FF supporter yet I think it is genuinely in the best longterm interests of the party (and of course, the country) for there to be a blood letting of FF TDs at the next General Election.

    The most certain way for this to happen at the moment is for Brian Cowen to remain on as leader of the FF party, with Mary Coughlan playing the goofy 'Jackie' to his 'Roseanne'.

    Does anyone else share this view? Will he eventually give into the pressure as we approach the election? Is his tenure one of the greatest assets available to the opposition political parties?

    I'd like him to stay on till the election, only for him to see first hand the massive wave of destruction coming for his inept party.

    By all means let him stay on but hopefully not as the Taoiseach of this country. We cannot afford him and his posse.
