Has anyone ordered something from Japan and used EMS to make the delivery? It seems to have just vanished. Dispatch from outward office of exchange would suggest, unless im reading it wrong that its leaving the country and is en-route to Ireland. 8 Days in transit? Are they shipping it by boat or something

I have read that parcelforce takes care of shipping once it reaches the UK so i thought it would be similiar for Ireland, its not. Any insight would be welcome guys, cheers

Parcelforce doesn't operate in Ireland, An Post takes incoming EMS mail. Due to the weather of the last two weeks, there is a large back log of mail, so either your parcel is held somewhere out of the country, or is in with all the other undelivered mail in Portlaoise.

It could also have been stopped for inspection by customs, which can take anything from days to weeks.

It's only been 5 working days since it left Japan, which would not be an unusual length of time to reach here in the best of circumstances. Since circumstances are anything but best right now, you're going to have to be patient.

GLS/fedex sometimes take parcelforce packages when sent to Ireland, perhaps this is the case her too?
