Is it not a Civil Bill in the Circuit Court?

company got a letter today stating "We served proceedings on you on this date.. it should be noted that upon teh expiry of 14 days we will apply for judgement" etc

but we did not recieve any other letters stating that proceedings were served. I was under the impression this must be done via registered post. So i'm curious how they can file for judgement when we had not recieved the original summons or what ever its called and had not been given a chance to enter an appearance/defence

its a debt matter and we wrote to the other side with queries requestion documentation and they never responded

was the letter from Revenue ?

they are clamping down on "late" payments and non payments in a big way ...I mean ...they have started doing their job properly.

I received a few letters in the last 3months (I originally contacted them with regards to getting up to date with VAT returns etc 12months ago) .... All the information was passed to the accountant and will hopefully be sorted within the next few weeks.

NOTE: some of the letters I received were from different departments claiming they were issuing legal proceedings and criminal charges etc.... its a legal threat which in my opinion has only a little bite - as the courts are extremely slow and lenient - just get everything in order and if needed contact by telephone and ask for email contact (it seems they are insistant on snail mail - which sometimes gets lost - or at least it did in my case...never received some of the earlier warnings....they claimed they issued.)
