So China has 2 trillion US dollars in finacial reserves. What does this mean, the Chinese have 2 Trillion in US government bonds? the Chinese have 2 trillion US dollars in physical paper stored in their banks?

I would imagine a mixture of both with a heavy weighting towards the former.
