Ok ring is done and all thats left is to ask the question. She know's it's coming. However we both are busy till x-mas and not a lot of opportunity to plan or see each other. So any simple romantic ideas on how to ask? Want it done before xmas so we should have a good one.

My husband proposed near enough to Christmas, we didn't have a whole lot of money so he couldn't go with his idea of the 'perfect proposal' (he had this vision in his head of some sort of beachfront cabin in Bora Bora :pac:), instead when I got home from work he was cooking a lovely roast dinner, had candles and a bottle of wine and then after dinner he appeared with a bunch of roses and got down on one knee :)

It was nice and simple and IMO perfect. I much preferred that to his 'perfect' idea. Something nice like a home cooked meal and flowers and candles would be nice. Or else is there a special place that you both like, say a park or beach or something? Or the place you had your first date? You could go there (providing there's not arctic conditions outside) and ask.

    Best of luck!!

    hello there,

i know when i did it it was in Galway, just in between our birthdays in April. we live in galway, so went for dinner in mcswiggans bar. after we both went for a short walk across to wood quay, passed the rowing club to the end of the quay. and popped the question. it is really quiet down there and there is a lot of birds, swans and ducks.

The weekend before i had asked her father's permission, so when she rang home to tell her mother she all ready knew.

she had nearly ran her out of the house on the Sunday afternoon before, so she would not let on.

    best of luck

Awww this is such a sweet proposal! I personally think such a nice and simple gesture like a home cooked meal, etc. at home is so lovely.

My fiance proposed in Bunratty Castle, then we went for a meal with friends, nice and simple, I think thats a more personal touch, and I'm sure you know her well enough at this stage to come up with the perfect proposal for her!
Best of luck to ye both!
