Posting alcohol - Custom Issues

Not sure if this is the correct forum.

I'm living abroad in an EEA country. I want to post a package of Christmas presents home, and want to include a bottle of the local liquor. I was wondering what customs issues would arise for a litre or less. I know the rules with regard travel, but wondered whether different rules apply to posting.

    Thanks.

shouldn't do. the girlfriends father ships home pallets every year without issue. 700 bottles + from France. Never had any dealing / issues with Customs over it.

Just wondering about the posting of liquids....
I tried to post a bottle of wine(...well actually, irish Buckfast, since theirs is slightly different) to a friend in the UK.
An Post said they would not do it.
Any courier service i've seen says they won't post liquids either.
    Ideas?
sorry if a tiny bit OT.:o
