While it isn't vital that a half distance is necessary to complete or compete a full distance triathlon, there'ld be a few benefits. The pacing and nutrition required for half distance and full distance events are quite different to Olympic or Sprint so if a full is on the cards for people next year, they may wish to use a race day scenario to evaluate how their training is going.

The most obvious thing to point out here would be the location of this event? Would you like to share that with us?

Any advice on pacing and nutrition for the half and full distances:confused:

All we know so far is a date and a distance. Who, where, and how much would be important before anyone marks it in the calendar. You may have planned this thread as a tease, but to give so little info is just plain silly.

They are two completely different beasts (pacing and nutrition for a half, and pacing and nutrition for a full) and there is little connection between both. A good topic for a different thread.
