toshiba recovery problem

i tried to do a system restore on a laptop because it was starting to run very slow, i put in the recovery disc and followed all the instructions. then windows restarted and it said "preparing for first use" etc, then the desktop screen popper up for a sec only to be replaced by a toshiba screen saying "finishing…

i tried to do a system restore on a laptop because it was starting to run very slow, i put in the recovery disc and followed all the instructions. then windows restarted and it said "preparing for first use" etc, then the desktop screen popper up for a sec only to be replaced by a toshiba screen saying "finishing installing the software, please do not turn off laptop". then it restarts again, only for the same process to happen over and over. it keeps saying preparing for first use. does anyone know whats wrong or how to fix this please

EDIT: turns out this is normal, took almost 20 mins, pity it didnt warn me this would happen
