Coolant/Engine warning light

Girlfriend's car. The Low Coolant Level Warning Light (I know she should have had the coolant level checked but a bit late for that now) came on in the car today. She topped it up with coolant but the light still comes on when she starts her car. So does the Engine Diagnostics Warning Light. The coolant warning light goes off afer a few seconds and the engine diagnostics light goes off once she turns the key.

Basically should she get the car checked out? The fact that the lights aren't staying on I thought would mean it isn't serious, however is this something that she should get looked at straight away so it doesn't get serious? Could there be a leak in the coolant system? Thanks.

That sounds like the normal start up process to be honest. Most warning lights come on when starting as a bulb/system check.

So long as neither stay on, I think you're sound.

Cheers mate. They've never come on before though like this, that's what has her worrying.

No bother. Whats the make and model. Perhaps someone that has one will confirm if thats the normal start up sequence but it seems conventional to me. It is possible that she didn't ever take much notice of them before! :)

Some of the earlier 307's had problems with faulty coolent level sensors.
Maybe ring up your local peugeot garage quote them your vin number and ask if there were any recalls due on your 307....can't remember if there was a recall on the coolent level sensors...
