Hi anyone any ideas on a good suction bagless easy to move around vacum. I got a dyson one couple of years ago, one of those upright ones, it has great suction but is dam hard to lug up and down stairs. recently it started getting blocked could see pens and stuff through the see tru hose, but there no way to disconnect hose from where it enters main body and impossible to unblock! should be able to open hose like with other vacums to unblock but cant. need to dump it and get new one. other thing pet hairs on carpet stairs still not fully removed!

any ideas on which brands and models

    thanks.

You actually can disconnect the hose from the body and run a broomstick through it, and a bent wire clothes hanger through the bendy bits.

But my experience of Dysons is that when they start to get things caught in the hose, it keeps happening - maybe it's something to do with the strength of the engine. I don't think I'd buy one again.

A friend has a Sebo, a Spanish brand, which she likes a lot - it has a long hose that goes right up the stairs. But it's still heavy to lug up and down stairs.

The solution might be to have a vacuum for upstairs and one for downstairs.
