    Hi

I am looking to buy a car van, preferably white, smallish diesel engine less than 2.0 litre.

Where is a good place to look / what are the best websites? Is it worth looking in the North / UK?

Does anyone recommend the car auctions?

    Budget is less than 5k

    Based in Dublin

Get a Ford Focus Van - best there is out there. Get one in as good condition as your budget allows - I'd say on your budget either the last of the MK1 or an early MK2.

No point looking in the UK or North as Car Van's weren't really sold over there, it was an Irish conversion to get lower VRT.

Yea the focus looks pretty neat, I would imagine good on petrol and cheap parts. my mate had one and it felt it a little bit tinny compared to a vw for example

bear in mind that you are going to have trouble taxing it if it isnt for commercial use.

How about a nissan almera van ,the only thing is the diesel engine is a 2.2 litre but its a nice powerful motor.

Anybody have experience of the 1.5 Renault Megane?

2.2 engine is a bit big, looking for something quite fuel efficient.. although I did see a nice Santa Fe 2004 for €3,400

whats the best website or mag for commericals?

Simple as this buy a vw golf van own a mk5 van at the moment and previously owned a mk4 2002 still not out a penny with either of them had 100000 up on the mk4 great little vans. check out this one on carzone http://www.carzone.ie/search/Volkswagen/Golf-Van/201045200210959/advert?channel=CARS lovely van and you'l easily push another 100000 out of that engine.
