If you are going low price, the Roland Cube 15w.

You could pick up a used Blackstar HT-5 combo for around €200.

    They are 2 possible options.

Of the ones you listed, the first one looks the best.

I'd agree with Darrenw on the Cube 15, but for a small home practice amp the microcube is just more fun. It has built-in amp modelling, effects and a tuner. More to play with!

If he likes Orange amps and is looking for a smaller practice amp I'd say your much better off going with the Blackstar HT-5. Although... Orange and Marshall are very different amps...

Overall though, I'd be much more impressed with the Blackstar if it was me!

Edit: If you don't wanna spend that much, if he's very into his guitar and either has some pedals / doesn't like pedals go with the Orange but for something to have fun with the Cube is a very good shout

Those Roland cube amps have always impressed me. I've never owned one, but I am always amazed at what they can do for such a small amp.

Just the other week I played a gig one of the guitarists had to use a micro cube lol. It was a 300 capacity venue....

You wouldn't get an overdrive/distortion pedal for that money.

4 different dirt modes and a clean. I used to connect my mp3 player with backing tracks in to it through the aux in 2.1 jack.

yeah the roland CUBE15X is great value at €59 and has an good sound for an modelling amp,but i read a review recently bout the roland 20x cube in tg, they could only say great thing about it,they seconded it to the voxvt20+(great too) which is at thomann for €179 and that was for only because of the fact that vox has more models available, i,ve seen the 20x cube at thomann for €99, a snip and it sounds better to me, if it was me i stump up the extra few quid and get the 20x for that bit of extra quality

whats your budget with this amp?

I defo recommend any blackstar if you can stretch to it.

Was in X Music today they have them for €75 which is about the same as thomann when you add on shipping

    Forgot about this one:

Very good amp for the price. Plus it's tube! Very very versatile too

i've got the vt30 and it is one hell of a versitile amp, tone on ac15 or ac30 options on it can weaker than the real thing but still close enough for get juices flowing for that signature brian may or rory gallagher sound, vt20+ just came out and is supposed to be even better and is for 179 at thomann, just food for thought

The VT20+ is great, big improvement on the VT15 in sound and looks, and it's 179 in music shops here too!

A peavey all tube combo for less then €100?
Might have to pick one of those up myself.
I've head nothing but joy with Peavey tube heads in the past, but they are a pain for playing at bedroom levels.

That little valve king could be the answer.
