ok about to get killed by the woman, she has her driving test next wed. I've only realised in the last 6 min that the car needs its nct, which it doesnt have, it's a 2006 golf with like 30,000km on it.. What's the bets i'l get an nct appointment before wed and if not will they def ask to see it..? thanks

Can't sit the test without it - You could be looking at renting an instructors car for it.

Only chance you have is if you know someone at the test center..

One problem mate. What if it fails and at the last minute you try then to book the instructors car and he's using it, yes thats right the woman will kill you!!
just saw it has 30000km it could still fail on brake imbalance or rusty brake lines if it came in from the uk.

    Hope things work out.

I'd say you'll get the test done, but you'll need to be flexible about times.

If you have the log book get online and you might be able to book a test soon if your lucky. I booked a test last week for 2 days after booking it online. If theres nothing online then ring them.

I'l go anywhere at anytime.. I'l let ye know how quick you can get a car booked in tomorrow..

OP - You need to book a test by phone for any date, any centre, you can then change it for a cancellation at your local centre online. It'll take a bit of patience online, but it's well doable.

People realise you can pick any date at all in nearly any center online, right? I booked mine for this Friday coming, last Tuesday!

Ya could always borrrow a disk, they wont examine it too closely. I know I'd prefer to do that than explain to the woman at the last minute she has to use an unfamiliar car.

OP, whatever happens don't "borrow a disk", completely looney piece of advice.
