What struck me about the article was the comments within the article concerning trans people. I'm amused by the fact that Adults would think this way. I could imagine hearing something like this from a child or a teenager, but an Adult.

It's tragic how some people think, while living their live with tunnel vision and blinders for good measure.

    the comments against the bill?

no, I don't think a child or a teenager would say something like that, it takes a certain type of adult to preach that kind of hatefulness.

In fairness, I reckon it'll get passed, and if not now in a couple years.

Despite having a conservative government for the last few years, Canada still remains pretty progressive about this kind of stuff. Kinda off-topic, but I got a little booklet the other day with my passport that I'd just got renewed, and in it there was a whole section dedicated to LGBT people/Same-Sex couples abroad and how to keep safe. Thought that was pretty cool that that's in our official documentation and handed out with each and every passport!

Also, it's the idiot bigots who speak the loudest-- thankfully in Canada they are definitely WAY in the minority, we're pretty good about being open-minded, as a rule.
