thanks for that, i didnt know whether the key would be chipped or not, or if a normal locksmith could do it, only after buying the car and it only came with 1 key so want a spare,
also the key that did come with it isn't a remote central locking key but one of them keys with a little light in it like the old vw ones, it has a button on it for the light but the battery seems to be gone, just wondering how you open the key to change the battery

and would i be able to get a remote central locking key cut for it would it work as i dont know whether it originally did have a remote key and i have the spare or if this is the main key
key is the same as thisimage_show.php?item_id=1236&type=large&vc=1b3a74df156c57fb342cc4e6ce814717

same as my old bora.. it didnt have central locking.. not sure if it can be checked with vagcom to show if you have remote locking fitted??

i fitted a kit like this in the bora http://cgi.ebay.ie/Central-Lock-Locking-Kit-Remote-Keyless-CLR669W-ULT-/380227532229?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item588753b5c5 just got the blanks cut by the locksmith and got a blank immobilizer chip coded so i would have a second key!!

if i could find out whether it has remote central locking i'd love a key like this

you could always use the flip key even if it dose not have remote locking.. you can have it checked with vagcom to see if it has remote locking.... what part of the country are you in??

rang the local skoda dealer today and the quoted me 95 euro for a new key to be cut and chipped, sounds a bit pricey

that would be for the second key in the pic.. not a flip key anyway.. did you ask them dose your car have remote locking??

you will pay alot of that to buy a key with blank blade and chip get it cut and programed

ya i asked them and the said a 02 probably wouldn't have remote central locking, now i have the hassle of having to stick my key into the door lock everytime i want to use it, :D

just buy the kit i linked to in ebay above .. all you need then is a second immobilizer chip programed and you will have two working keys
