Well not so much an issue and more of an irritating inconvenience. I recently purchased a nice new machine from overclockers. Bought it without an OS as I had a copy of Windows 7 already.

Installed windows without a glitch. but now every time I boot up, im given an option in the BIOS to boot from Windows 7 or "an earlier version of Windows"

Now I can just select Windows 7 and it will boot but does anyone know why the other option is there and if so can it be removed?

    cheers
    dunny

you may have bought without an os, but there was clearly something on it! check the c: drive for additional Windows folders.

simplest fix without mucking around is to set Win7 as the default and the count down to 0 or 1 sec.

Right click on my computer > properties > advanced system settings > startup & recovery settings > set Win 7 as the default OS, untick the 'time to display OS' option.
