I am going to kill someone, who are the people that go to the library for the the laugh? It's study week and there's full blown conversations and no attempt to even try and be quite from a lot of people in the QUITE study area downstairs.

It was actually quieter in the group study area ffs! Why do people go to the library for a chat or not to do anything at all?!

If you're one of those people, please stop going to the library, you're wasting your own time and mine! /rant

I'm so disappointed, thread title fail.

I was waiting to see if the college would open even if someone was murdered considering they didn't close for all the snow.

I think you need to follow through with the threats, its the only way they'll learn.

Stick in the earphones and work away? Christmas and Summer tends to attract the people who don't know how they should conduct themselves in a study environment and it's not worth the hassle trying to get them to be quiet.

Its always been bad when its busy and the college never do anything about it, nor did previous WITSU team attempts. It wont change for a long time, if ever, id say.

turn some music up real loud. when a staff member comes over complaining, say you cant concentrate, and the music is drowning out the noise of the ignorant others.

Sadly for me if i listen to music i'll start to sing and be back where i was with the noise...

but really, why do people go to the library (more specifically the quite study area) in groups of 5 or more?

Tis hardly my idea of banter

I gave up going there two years ago for study, when I was in UL the library was very strict, you got one warning and if you didn't heed it you got kicked out. WIT library needs to be a lot more strict on the noise issue.

It would be better if the desks were designed better so that they were more like an office cubicle. The small wall would block a lot of noise from travel along the library. Then again this shouldn't be required as students should be more understanding that it is a library and should be quiet.

I get quite annoyed by people who seem to be quite unable to keep quiet
