    Hello all.

I was adopted at birth in London, Islington to be precise ( I think). However, I do not know where to start as to look for birth parents. Does anybody even have the slightest idea as to where to start? I don't have much info but I would like to persure this, mainly for medical reasons and the like.

The UK adoption process is mainly run by the local authorities, through their social services departments

I would suggest you contact the Islington Adoption Service. If you were adopted there they should have the records, and can explain the options/process for finding birth parents. If it was not done in Islington, they should still be able to provide you with details of how to establish which authority was involved
