It sounds like you have some type of heat pump and rads but its not very clear from your post. Could you be more specific, make, model, ground source, air source etc.

hi don't kno make as it don't say..it's a electric heating systems that controls heating and hot water from the 1 control panel.it's outthe back that has a fan at the front that's spins round when heat or hot water is on.I think it's cos of freezing weather that it's trying 2 hard to give out heat.I think the machine should be closed in or covered.any help wud be great

Yes its an air source heat pump, not normally suitable with radiators, how big is your house, how many rooms etc. I would need more specific info. on the heatpump maybe a photo to start.

it's 3bed bungalow with solar panels too..tbh I don't know maybe it's just the freezing temps that's ****ing it up

Most heatpumps will work down to -20 degrees but the output from the machine is reduced, a problem you have is your trying to heat radiators (usually UFH with HP) so the HP is trying to produce higher water temperatures, so unless your radiators are huge and working at a lower temperature your going to have problems, if you are using it for short periods of time will also be a problem as the delta t on the water side will be very high.

I did'nt realise you had a boiler, you will have to keep your boiler stat at 70 or below this is needed to protect the HP, the HP can still add valuable energy to the system if the controls are set up correctly even at these temperatures the HP can give you 2 KW of heat for 1 KW electricity if your internal thermostat is an integral part of the HP control system then turning it up to 25 makes the HP work very hard so keep it around 20. a few photos of various parts of the system would help.
