    Help!!!!
I'm taking part in the Clon 10k this saturday but have done zero training over the last week and a half over this crappy weather. I have no excuse really I suppose, I could have gone to a gym or something. But it is what it is now...

So now I'm panicking! I'm going out tonight for a trot but dont want to over do it and injure myself. So I'm thinking maybe 3 miles?

2 weeks ago I got up to 5.5 miles so was all confident. Now I'm not so sure.

I'm a beginner and this is my first event really so any tips would be great!!

As it is your first race, just take it easy and dont go out too fast, keep relaxed and you'll be fine.

+1 No bodder - better to arrive at the starting post fresh than knackered. Forget any time expectations and enjoy.

Cheers guys. I went out last night just to stretch the legs, nice gentle 2 miles. Oh it felt so good! Cant wait for this crap weather to subside. Next goal is 10 miles...

    Haha,

I'm the same as you OP !! Started running back in August and I had to have an eye operation 19th Nov !! No training for 2 weeks and the this sh!ddy weather.

So I'm actually doing the half marathon !! Can't wait though, I was up to 18km on my LSR after 4 months so happy enough with that !!

Just gonna give it socks then beer in DeBarras !!

Can't wait !! Travelling from North Louth, (GIMME ALL YOU GOTS WEATHER !!)

Well the weather is lovely down here today so I am hopeful that Saturday will be the same. I'd say there will be a great atmosphere down in Clon, its a great spot. And DeBarras is class.

Best of luck in the half, I'm sure there are lots of people feeling unprepared over the recent weather so we are not alone! :)
