    Bought a new Netbook today with Windows 7 Starter and Android
    What apps are unnecessary and should just be removed from other peoples experiences. I will most likely install Winrar, VLC, Firefox, AVG, Daemon Tools, ITunes, Spybot, Adobe Reader and Malwarebytes. Are any of those unnecessary considering the applications already installed, where would other people start. Thanks for any help

    I've no experience with 7 Starter.. But i will say for your choice of apps;
    Winrar > 7zip
    VLC is good
    Firefox is good, that or chrome, or ie9
    AVG > microsoft security essentials
    Daemon Tools > virtual clone drive?
    ITunes > meh
    Spybot > superantispyware
    Adobe Reader > foxit reader
    Malwarebytes is good

    the usual problem with netbooks can be RAM. you should be fine with 2GB. if you have microsoft security essentials, and you aren't reckless with your browsing, you will get away with occasional malware/spyware scanning, not full time. AVG is a hog so steer clear. same with adobe reader. Windows has built in support for zip files, but not other compressed files like RAR.
